The editing and proofreading work I do for World Vision (WV) has been keeping me busy lately. In the last six months alone, I have worked with WV Romania, WV Afghanistan, WV West Africa, WV MEER (Middle East, Eastern Europe region) and a few others. A lot of this work involves receiving documents (reports, manuals, brochures) that may have been written by someone whose first language is not necessarily English. So my job is to tidy up the English, correct any errors and sometimes even rewrite sections so that it reads better and is easily understood. I’ve also just finished editing three training manuals for WV US which has been extremely rewarding. I really believe these training programmes are going to do a lot of good out there.
